Do You Dear Your Mom and Her Two-Hit Multi-Target Attacks? ,[Jp. ane] also simply referred to as Okaa-san Online ,[Jp. 2] is a Japanese light novel serial written by Dachima Inaka and illustrated past Pochi Iida. It was published by Fujimi Shobo under its Fujimi Fantasia Bunko imprint from January 2017 to Apr 2020 for a full of 11 volumes. The story focuses on teenager Masato Oosuki's human relationship with his mother Mamako every bit they are both transported to a fantasy world inside an online game.

A manga adaptation by Meicha was serialized in Kadokawa Shoten's digital manga magazine Young Ace Up from September 2017 to January 2021. Premise [edit]

Masato Oosuki is a teenager who is usually bellyaching by his overly doting mother, Mamako, until both are teleported to a fantasy-themed world inside an online game. Masato tries his hardest to evidence his prowess inside the game, but constantly finds himself flustered by the fact that his mother possesses much higher stats, thus she can hands defeat all opponents with her twin swords, leaving piffling room for him to act. On their style, they befriend three girls who join their party. As they take quests inside the game, they later on discover that it was originally designed to help strengthen the bonds between parents and their children.[4]

Her mother is very strict and interferes at every available chance to ensure Medhi succeeds at every chore. If 1 of the plans backlash, Medhi mutters snide and derogatory remarks under her breath virtually how she actually despises her mother. Her real name is Airi.
Masumi Shirase [Jp. 8] Satomi Arai[10]
The distributor of the video game world. She appears frequently over the course of the series as different authoritative characters, who take the same proper name as her. Medhi's mother. She likes to brag most her daughter and will do anything to ensure that she is the best. Unbeknownst to Medhimama, however, her overbearing nature has cause Medhi to despise her.
Amante [Jp. 12] Natsumi FujiwaraEp. 9 credits
A member of an anti-female parent party called "Ribele", Amante is known as the Betrayer of Mothers because she does not like how the game favors mothers. As such, she wants to get rid of them.

Do You Dearest Your Mom and Her Two-Striking Multi-Target Attacks? began as a light novel series written by Dachima Inaka, with illustrations provided past Pochi Iida.[12] Information technology started publication under Japanese publisher Fujimi Shobo'south imprint Fujimi Fantasia Bait-and-switch, with the commencement volume released on January 20, 2017,[xiii] [14] while the last volume was released on April 17, 2020, making a total of 11 volumes published.[15] During their panel at Sakura-Con on March 31, 2018, North American publisher Yen Press appear that they had licensed the serial for an English version,[16] which was translated by Andrew Cunningham,[17] and released from November 27, 2018 to Nov 16, 2021.[18] [19]

Japanese voice actress Ai Kayano provided the voice of Mamako Oosuki, the titular mother, in a series of promotions for Do You Love Your Mom and Her Two-Hit Multi-Target Attacks?;[xx] [21] Kayano would eventually reprise her part in the anime adaptation.[v] As part of a promotional campaign for the series, Breathing announced that they would requite abroad a xvi-folio brusk story booklet to anyone who brought their mother to purchase one of the iv winners of the 29th Fantasia Prizes.[22]

Manga [edit]

A manga adaptation of Do Yous Honey Your Mom and Her Two-Hit Multi-Target Attacks?, written and illustrated by Meicha, was serialized in Kadokawa Shoten'due south digital manga magazine Young Ace Up from September 26, 2017 to January 18, 2021.[23] [24] The serial was also serialized on Kadokawa'southward Comic Walker platform.[xvi] Kadokawa Shoten has compiled the capacity into five private tankōbon volumes, published from August 25, 2018 to February 4, 2021.[25] The manga is also licensed in North America past Yen Press,[26] with the first book published on September three, 2019,[27] while the fifth and last volume will be released on December 14, 2021.[28]

Anime [edit]

An anime tv set serial adaptation was announced at the "Fantasia Bunko Dai Kanshasai 2018" event on October 21, 2018.[29] The serial was directed by Yoshiaki Iwasaki and written by Deko Akao, with animation by studio J.C.Staff.[30] Yohei Yaegashi provided the serial' grapheme designs.[31] Keiji Inai equanimous the music.[32] The series aired from July thirteen to September 28, 2019 on Tokyo MX and other channels.[a] [33] [34] Spira Spica performed the serial' opening theme song "Iya yo Iya yo Mosuki no Uchi",[Jp. 13] while Ai Kayano performed the series' catastrophe theme vocal "Tsūjou Kōgeki ga Zentai Kōgeki de ni Kai Kōgeki Mama".[Jp. fourteen] [35] [36] An OVA episode is arranged with the series' sixth Blu-ray volume, which was released on March 25, 2020.[37] Aniplex of America has licensed the series.[38]

Spider web radio [edit]

A spider web radio prove based on Do Y'all Love Your Mom and Her 2-Hit Multi-Target Attacks? and hosted by Ai Kayano was broadcast every Wednesday and Fri starting on June 5, 2019.[39]

Video game [edit]

A RPG browser game adaptation of Do Yous Love Your Mom and Her 2-Hit Multi-Target Attacks?, developed by Atsumaru in collaboration with Urufu, was released on April 20, 2017, the same appointment the 2d volume in the serial was published.[xl]

Other media [edit]

A collaborative study book titled Let's Study English language With Your Mom was launched in Japan on March 28, 2020. It is intended to assist inferior high level students with their English courses by featuring characters from the series explaining conversational English and grammer, as well as presenting complete sentences in English, inside the book. Furthermore, customers that purchase the volume are able to download bonus sound recordings by Kayano, in improver to receive a review quiz.[41]

Popularity [edit]

Critical response [edit]

Reviewing the first two episodes of the anime, Steve Jones of Anime News Network gave the series a 3 out of 5 star rating, saying it "emerges every bit an odd animal to pivot down", while also commenting that the prove's one-act "[has] definitely been hitting more often than the average isekai", with Jones albeit he had fun watching the episodes.[48] In another review, Jones remarked how he enjoyed the bear witness by and large because of its fan service. This does offer some amusing comedy. However, the [series] does as well offer a nice glimpse at a deeper them of motherhood and managing the bond between a mother and a teenage child who's starting to want some independence."[52]

Allen Moody of THEM Anime Reviews gave the anime a 2 out of 5 star rating, criticizing the series for its absurdly long title and dynamics between the characters.[53]
